Alexander Heads Camp

27/02/2017

Sun, surf, rainforest, swimming and sand! A great combination for fun, frolicking and finding new friends.

70+ excited St Bernard State School students excitedly jumped onto a coach and headed north to the Sunshine Coast.

As we approached the area the road dipped like a roller coaster and everyone was so excited as the camp was set just 100m away from the beach.

Staff planned many activities; including bush walking and art classes with Mrs Cozier and Mr Brandt, volleyball with Miss Brake and Mr Forbes, and team building challenges with Mrs Lampard and Miss Millers.

We were lucky to have tuition with the local Surf Life Saving Club, learning about surf safety, looking at equipment, and playing beach games such as flags and chain relays. We had access to the swimming pool one afternoon, and made a massive whirlpool in the water. Another activity was the inaugural St Bernard State School Synchronised swimming team challenge.

At night we had trivia and group games, an amazing garbage bag fashion parade followed by a disco, and a movie night.

We had “Warm Fuzzy” bags for all to write lovely comments to each other, and created a beautiful painted keepsake of the rainforest to remember the camp by.
